Medea is a strategic action of the Spanish Biomedical Research Network on Epidemiology and Public Health (Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red de Epidemiología y Salud Pública) whose aim is to analyse socio-economic and environmental inequalities in small areas of cities in Spain and Europe.
The strategic action consists of two projects:
Medea: Is a coordinated project involving 14 research groups in Spain financed by the Carlos III Institute of Health during the period 2009-2011. An earlier project, called Medea I, has already been completed.
INEQ-CITIES: Is a project financed by the European Union Executive Agency for Health and Consumers (EAHC), with members from 15 European countries; the project is now under way, period of duration 2009-2012.
